Dear CSA Membership,

The 2006 Competitive Tryout dates have been assigned and are posted on the CSA Website. Whether your child would like to play Indoor Soccer, Spring Soccer, or Both Indoor & Spring Soccer they MUST attend a competitive tryout. If your child cannot attend their assigned tryout, due to any injury or any other reason, you should contact Walter Bourges ASAP via email

For those of you that may have never played competitive soccer, the tryouts are held in order for a team of evaluators (3 or 4) to evaluate your children so that we can place them onto an A, B, or C team based on their skills and team play. There will be a $10 registration fee due on tryout day.

Registration forms can be found at csa-ri.com/competitive_program.htm for you to fill out, print and bring with you to the tryouts.

This year we are using a tryout system which uses a scoring system based on how well a player performs during the tryout. Without getting into a lot of detail, this is a fair system which is starting to be used nationwide for competitive evaluations.

The Competitive Season is a whole new season which means you will need to pay an additional fee to play (this is not part of the developmental season), and any additional tournaments that your coach may want to enter his/her team into will also be the responsibility of the team. Each Indoor session or spring season's cost will be determined on how many players are on the team. Each player will receive a new competitive shirt to which the cost is incorporated into your session fees. We are trying to get additional sponsor’s to help with the cost.

If you are own a business and would like to see your company name on approx 20 to 30 shirts playing at RI Indoor Sports were hundreds of people will see your company name on the back of a players shirts or on a patch you should contact Walter Bourges. Oh and don't forget the spring season where the children will be traveling around the state. Help US to help YOU!!!

So whether you are a player, coach or sponsor and would like any additional please feel free to contact Walter Bourges.

Good Luck at the tryouts... GO Coventry!
